Add an option to allow Field of View to be consistent
I'd like to be able to fly with no cockpit yet not be massively disadvantaged with the smaller Field of View. Blarget was telling me that this could be hard to implement, but even if it was letterboxed or something I would prefer it.

I do fly with no cockpit. It's not a massive disadvantage, just a minor one.
I recall that status bar was the best of both worlds but thanks to D2 I still don't use it - because of rear view.

I use sniper mode and switch between the bar and full-screen.

Even though the cockpit view has a wider FOV, the screen is obscured so I personally think it's a fine trade-off. Maybe I just like the cockpit view too much

sniper mode gets rid of the cockpit mode that has the pillars. So when you hit f4 you are switching from full mode to widescreen mode with the bar at the bottom. So I set f4 to one of my mouse buttons and I can switch between the 2 easily...kinda like a sniper mode. So I use fullscreen when looking down a long hallway to that i can see more easily to sniper my vulcan and then switch back to the bar at the bottom cockpit so I have my widest field of view.
It's a good go between.
